Montreux Statues & Monuments
Montreux Jazz 50th
For its 50th anniversary, the Montreux Jazz Festival has created an amazing poster.
More than a poster. It is an emblem to the glory of half a century of music.
Swiss artist Giovanni Riva uses the official logo of the festival created in 1982 by the artist Jean Tinguely and pays tribute to the 49 editions that made the legend of the Festival. Giovanni Riva came up with the idea of patchworking pieces of all the posters designed since 1967 by prestigious people like Niki de Saint Phalle, Romero Britto, Rolf Knie, Phil Collins, David Bowie or Keith Haring.
The posters in the poster come to compose a monumental work materialized with the help of local craftsmen in the form of a huge luminous installation of 6m width and 5m height for a weight of 900 Kg.
Work of art inaugurated in 2016 in front of the congress hall 2m2c on the lake shore.
