Montreux musical history in 1972

The concerts are now presented under the label Good News and Super Pop Montreux. It was first of all a collaboration between the two Societies in order to simplify the booking of bands everyone wanted to see in Switzerland. The venues in Montreux often were too small.

This is how the Mahavishnu Orchestra group created in 1970 performed in Zurich but also The WHO, Santana or Ike and Tina Turner among others.

Led Zeppelin, faithful to Montreux, returned to the Pavilion (the Casino having been completely destroyed by a fire the previous year).

Running a jazz festival is like being an office clerk, but of course better...

In December 1972, the TV show "Bon dimanche monsieur X" followed Claude Nobs in the  preparation of the next Montreux Jazz Festival.
